Dra. Maria Súzel Freitas Camacho, Legal Counsel

Director

Súzel is a law graduate from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a practising lawyer registered with the Portuguese Bar Association. Súzel has recently concluded two additional post-graduate degrees, from the Catholic University of Porto – Porto Business School, one in Accounting and Finances and the other in Advanced Tax.

Having started out as a legal counsel to Madeira Management, Súzel was appointed as a director in 1995 and, along with Elita, is joint Managing Director of MMCL.  Both are responsible for the management of the company, promotion and development of new business opportunities. Súzel is responsible for matters relating to shipping, as well as a portfolio of clients.

Besides Portuguese, Súzel is fluent in French and Spanish.

Dra. Elita Correia Amaral, Legal Counsel

Director

Elita was educated in the UK and is a law graduate from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon where she also took a postgraduate degree in European Studies. Elita has recently concluded two additional post-graduate degrees, from the Porto Business School of the Catholic University of Porto, one in Accounting and Finances and the other in Advanced Tax.

Having started out as a legal counsel to Madeira Management, Elita was appointed director in 1995 and since 2012 is, along with Súzel, joint Managing Director of MMCL both being responsible for the management of the company, promotion and development of new business opportunities.
Elita handles a portfolio of corporate and individual clients, being bilingual in English and Portuguese.

Dra. Ana Gonçalves

Accounting Manager

Ana has a degree in Business Management. She is a Certified Accountant licensed by the Portuguese Certified Accountants Association and regularly attends seminars to be fully up to date with all changes in accounting and tax regulations.

Ana joined MMCL in 1993 as a junior bookkeeper and is now Head of the Accounting Team. Besides Portuguese, Ana speaks English and also has a good knowledge of Spanish and French.

Dra. Paula Câmara

Senior Certified Accountant

Paula has a degree in Business Management from ISAL (Instituto Superior de Administração e Línguas). She is a Certified Accountant licensed by the Portuguese Certified Accountants Association and regularly attends seminars to be fully up to date with all changes in accounting and tax regulations.

Paula joined MMCL in 2000 as a certified accountant. Before joining MMCL, Paula worked as an accountant with other regional accounting firms. Besides Portuguese, Paula speaks excellent English and also has a good knowledge of Spanish.

Dra. Bela Barbara

Certified Accountant

Bela has a degree in Accounting and Financial Institutions with ISCAL (Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Lisboa). She is a Certified Accountant licensed by the Portuguese Certified Accountants Association and regularly attends seminars to be fully up to date with all changes in accounting and tax regulations.

Bela joined MMCL in 2000 as a certified accountant. Before joining MMCL, Bela worked with a regional accounting firm. Besides Portuguese, Bela speaks good English.

Dr. Helder Nóbrega

Certified Accountant

Helder has a degree in Business Management from ISAL (Instituto Superior de Administração e Línguas). He is a Certified Accountant licensed by the Portuguese Certified Accountants Association and regularly attends seminars to be fully up to date with all changes in accounting and tax regulations.

Helder joined MMCL in 2002 as a certified accountant. Before joining MMCL, Helder worked with a regional accounting firm. Besides Portuguese, Helder speaks good English.

Dra. Isabel Fernandes

Finance Manager

Isabel has a degree in Organisation and Touristic Management from ISLA (Instituto Superior de Linguas e Administração, Lisbon). She is a Certified Accountant licensed by the Portuguese Certified Accountants Association and regularly attends seminars to be fully up to date with all changes in accounting and tax regulations.

Isabel joined MMCL in 1999 as a certified accountant responsible for a portfolio of client companies, but later was chosen to handle MMCL’s finance department. Before joining MMCL, Isabel worked in the accounting department of a Madeira IBC service provider. Besides Portuguese, Isabel speaks good English.

Sonia Saldanha

Legal and Commercial Executive

Sonia joined MMCL as a high school graduate in 1991 and is our longest serving employee. She is responsible for our legal, compliance and administrative services and supporting the management.

Sonia is bilingual in English and Portuguese, having been educated in the UK during her younger years,

Dra. Dina Fernandes

Customer Service Manager

Dina has a degree in Languages and Secretariat from ISCAP (Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto). Having joined MMCL in 2005, she is responsible for all front-office tasks and also provides legal and administrative services.
Dina was educated in Venezuela, being bilingual in Spanish and Portuguese, fluent in English and with basic knowledge of Italian and French.

Silvia Vieira

Commercial Assistant

Silvia joined MMCL in 1992 and is one of our longest serving staff member. Silvia provides commercial and billing services to client companies, as well as general administrative assistance. Besides Portuguese, Silvia speaks good Spanish.

Eduardo Vieira

Administrative Assistant

Eduardo joined MMCL in 1997. He provides back office services to all departments and is also responsible for organising and filing documentation.
